We are using multiple X-ray source/detector pairs to track intruder particles in agitated granular media to measure its temperature. See the video below for a summary of the experimental technique, and the paper (to be published soon) for the details. The code for processing the X-ray radiographs and calculating the temperature is open source and can be found here as part of the PynamiX package.
